Welcome to EmbodyMind Wellness
Where Movement Meets Mindfulness
WHY?
As mental health professionals and certified fitness instructors, we recognize the link between mind and body and the value of combining therapy with movement practices. At EmbodyMind, we work to treat the negative effects of chronic stress, which can leave you feeling fatigued, overwhelmed, and disconnected.
Studies have shown that daily movement practices and exercise not only help combat the effects of stress, but also enhance mood, energy, and focus more effectively than medication or therapy alone; however, therapy and movement practices operate separately and are not easily accessible.
To bridge this gap, we make it easy to join both by offering private therapy and movement classes, to help you build strength, flexibility, and joy in both your personal and professional life.
At the EmbodyMind Clinic, you can access our diverse staff of competent, reliable, and compassionate psychotherapists who are trained in different modalities of therapy to help you feel your best self.
At EmbodyMind Studio, you can access our group, individual, and semi-private classes in yoga and Pilates, taught by experienced teachers to help integrate your body and mind. Together, we believe these two activities offer a holistic approach to wellness and will truly make you feel at ease, comfortable, strong, and resilient.
Yoga, Pilates, and Therapy each offer unique benefits for managing stress, anxiety, and depression:
Yoga combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation to promote relaxation, enhance mindfulness, and improve overall emotional well-being.
Pilates focuses on strengthening core muscles and improving posture, which can reduce physical tension and improve body awareness.
Therapy provides a space to explore and address underlying emotional issues, develop coping strategies, and gain professional support.
Together, these practices can create a holistic approach to mental health, fostering resilience and a greater sense of balance.
That's why we created EmbodyMind Wellness, a supportive space to discover the benefits of integrating the mind and body through movement, therapy, and wellness offerings - allowing you to experience comfort, ease, stability, and strength in body and mind.
Note from the Founder:
Danielle Martineau, LICSW, founded EmbodyMind Wellness after over a decade in mental health, where she grew frustrated by the limitations of traditional approaches like talk therapy. Specializing in trauma and stress treatment, Danielle became passionate about integrating movement into therapy, earning certifications in EMDR, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trauma-Center Trauma-Sensitive-Yoga (TC-TSY), yoga, and Pilates. While pursuing her master’s degree at Smith School for Social Work, she focused on yoga’s impact on trauma. She then worked over decade in the mental health field as a trauma clinician and outpatient therapist in both the community and hospital setting, and she saw the need for a space that could combine movement with therapeutic support—something missing in most mental health clinics today. In 2020, she launched her private practice, and by 2024, expanded EmbodyMind into an integrated wellness center, offering a unique blend of therapy and movement-based practices to support whole-person wellness in the local community.
