Kim McCoy Coleman
Kim is a warm and compassionate trauma psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience.
With two Master’s degrees and a PhD candidacy at McGill University, her research focuses on trauma, the arts, and the role of awe in wellbeing. She is certified in psilocybin and ketamine-assisted therapy and is an Associate Professor of Social Work at SUNY. Kim brings a deep empathy to her work, informed by her personal experiences with privilege and oppression. Kim enjoys art, travel, and family time with her twin daughters, and finds spiritual strength in various traditions. Her therapeutic approach blends compassion with a deep understanding of complex, systemic issues. Kim integrates Relational-Cultural Theory, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy to support holistic healing and self-compassion. She works with diverse clients of all ages and identities, focusing on trauma, mental health, and personal growth, with a steadfast commitment to social justice and non-judgmental care.
